How much detergent should I use in my dishwasher?

The amount of detergent depends on your water hardness. For soft water, use 1 tablespoon (15ml) which will clean most loads. For medium water, use 1.75-3 tablespoons (25-45ml), and for hard water, use 3 tablespoons (45ml). The detergent dispenser cup has measuring lines to help you measure the correct amount. Do not exceed 3 tablespoons as overfilling can cause etching on glassware, especially with soft water. (Page 14-15)
