• Device data: Browser type, operating system, screen size
• IP address: Used for approximate geographic location (country-level) for analytics. Not stored long-term.

Data You Provide

• Chat questions: Processed to generate answers. May be stored anonymously to improve the service.
• Manual submissions: Brand name, product name, and uploaded file.
• Account data: Email address and display name (if you create an account).

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not use tracking cookies
• We do not use Meta Pixel, Google Analytics (GA4), or similar tracking tools
• We do not collect or store payment information directly
• We do not sell personal data to third parties

AskManual uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase: Database and authentication
• Anthropic (Claude API): AI answer generation
• OpenAI: Text embeddings for search
• Analytics: Privacy-friendly analytics (no personal data)
• Ad partners: Contextual and geographic ad targeting (no personal data shared)

5. Advertising

AskManual displays programmatic advertisements using contextual targeting (based on page content) and geographic targeting (based on IP-derived country). We do not enable behavioral targeting or retargeting. We do not share personal data with advertisers.

6. AI-Generated Content

When you ask a question via the AI chat, your question is sent to our AI provider to generate an answer. The question and answer may be stored to improve the service. Popular questions may be published as Q&A pages without any personally identifiable information. Do not include personal information in your chat questions.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@askmanual.ai.

For California Residents (CCPA)

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

For EU/UK Residents (GDPR)

Our lawful basis for processing is legitimate interest (providing the service) and, where applicable, consent. You have the right to withdraw consent at any time.

AskManual is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
