After cooking, allow the fire box to cool completely before cleaning and storage. Remove the wood/coal rack, clean away debris, and remove ash into a metal waste receptacle kept away from buildings and flammable materials. If storing for an extended period, apply a coat of Pam cooking oil on the inner fire box walls.
