What safety precautions should I take around the battery?

Keep sparks, flames, and smoking materials away from battery terminals at all times, as the battery can produce explosive gases. Ensure battery bolts are tight and keep the battery and terminals clean. Loose or damaged wiring may also cause poor performance, so ensure battery interlock relays are not shorted. (Page 27-28)
