What should I do before attempting any maintenance on my dishwasher?
To minimize the possibility of electric shock, disconnect the appliance from the power supply before attempting any maintenance. Note that turning the dishwasher off does not disconnect it from the power supply, and GE recommends having a qualified technician service your appliance (Page 6).
