Why is there cloudiness on my glassware after washing?

This condition is called etching and is permanent, caused by a combination of soft water and too much detergent. To prevent it from happening, use less detergent if you have soft water and wash glassware in the shortest cycle that will get them clean. You can also lower the water heater temperature if it exceeds 150°F. (Page 22)
