How do I clean the fabric softener dispenser?

Remove the dispenser from the agitator, separate the cup from the cover by grasping the top and pushing down on the inside of the cup. Soak both parts in a solution of 1 gallon warm water, 1/4 cup heavy duty liquid detergent, and 1 cup bleach. If necessary, loosen buildup with a soft cloth after soaking. Rinse and reassemble the dispenser. (Page 9)
