How do I install batteries in the GE Universal Remote?

Push down the tab on the back of the remote and lift off the cover. Insert two AAA alkaline batteries, matching the (+) and (-) marks on the batteries to the marks inside the compartment. Press the battery cover back into place. The remote will retain programmed codes for up to 10 minutes if batteries are removed.
