What safety precautions should I follow when not using the washer for an extended period?

Turn off the water faucets to relieve pressure on hoses and valves and to minimize leakage if a break or rupture should occur. Fill hoses should be checked and may need replacement after 5 years. If the weather will be below freezing, drain all water from the hoses, and if you will be away on a long vacation, be sure the water supply is shut off at the faucets. (Pages 7, 13)
