What should I do if I need to place a rear-facing car seat in a front passenger position?
Never place this child restraint rear-facing in a vehicle seating location that has an active front air bag, as it can hit the child and car seat with great force and cause serious injury or death. If there is no available back seat, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recommends moving the vehicle seat as far back as possible, ensuring the child is properly restrained, ensuring the child is not leaning into the air bag deployment path, and setting the air bag ON-OFF switch to OFF if available.
