What are the weight limits for rear-facing and forward-facing use?

This car seat supports rear-facing use for children weighing 4-50 lb (1.8-22.5 kg) and forward-facing use for children weighing 22-65 lb (10-30 kg). Children less than 22 lb (10 kg) MUST use this car seat rear-facing. The AAP and NHTSA recommend keeping children rear-facing until age 2 or until they reach the maximum rear-facing height and weight rating. (Page 6, 15)
