What rack position should I use when toasting bread?

Always place the Oven Rack in Position 2 for toasting, and always position your items in the middle of the rack. Placing the Oven Rack in Position 1 or 2 with the rack upward while toasting may result in a fire, so it is important to refer to the rack position diagram for proper use. For even toasting of multiple items, center two items in the middle, space four items evenly two in front and two in back, or place six items three in front and three in back. (Page 5)
