Cable specifications vary by application: N-485 connections use Belden 9842 or equivalent up to 4000 feet; Wiegand card readers use 18 AWG 6-conductor shielded cable up to 500 feet; Indala readers with A-3/A-5 read heads use 18 AWG 12-conductor shielded cable up to 75 feet; relay outputs use 18 AWG twisted pair shielded cable up to 2000 feet. All cable shields should connect to the copper grounding stud on the enclosure.
