You must use only salt specifically designed for dishwashers, as other types contain insoluble particles that can deteriorate the softener over time. Unscrew the cap of the container on the bottom of the machine and refill until the container is full, then clean the thread of salt residue and retighten the cap. After loading the salt, it is recommended to run a complete washing cycle or Cold Rinse programme, and the salt dispenser has a capacity of between 1.5 and 1.8 kg. (Page 9)
