How do I configure the input tray for different paper sizes such as A5/A6 versus A4/Letter?

If your printer supports Legal and Oficio paper sizes, you must change the orientation of the paper-length guide when switching between large and small paper sizes. To do this, tilt up and remove the input tray, slide off the guide, turn it around, slide it back onto the track, and reinstall the input tray. Note that this section applies only to printer models that support Legal and Oficio paper sizes. (Page 5)
