What precautions should I take to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage when servicing the computer?
Keep components in their electrostatic-safe containers until ready to install, use nonmagnetic tools, and discharge static electricity before touching any electronic component. Avoid touching pins, leads, and circuitry, handle electronic components as little as possible, and place any removed components in an electrostatic-safe container. Note that a product can be degraded by as little as 700 volts of electrostatic discharge. (Page 29)
