How do I protect my dishwasher from freezing if left in an unheated space during winter?

Cut off electrical power to the dishwasher by removing fuses or tripping the circuit breaker, then turn off the water supply and disconnect the water inlet line from the water valve. Drain water from the inlet line and water valve using a pan to catch the water, then reconnect the inlet line. Remove the plastic sump cover in the tub bottom and use a sponge to soak up any remaining water in the rubber boot. (Page 16)
