What is the duty cycle rating for the XMT 304, and what happens if I exceed it?

The XMT 304 is rated at 300A at 32 Volts DC at 60% duty cycle, meaning it can weld for 6 minutes out of every 10 minutes at rated load. If the unit overheats from exceeding the duty cycle, output stops, a Help message is displayed, and the cooling fan runs — you must wait fifteen minutes for the unit to cool. Exceeding the duty cycle can damage the unit and void the warranty. (Page 13)
