How do I determine if my eggs are fresh?

Fill a large glass with water to the top and place each egg in the water one by one. Eggs that sink and settle at the bottom in a horizontal position are the freshest. Eggs that float to the top are bad eggs, and those that sink but lie vertically are still good but less fresh and need to be eaten soon.
