What does it mean if the SRS airbag warning light stays on after starting the car?

The airbag warning light normally comes on for six seconds after the ignition switch is turned to 'ON' as part of a self-diagnosis check, then goes off if no malfunction exists. If the warning light remains on after six seconds, it indicates a malfunction has been detected in the SRS air bag system. You should have the system inspected by an authorised Perodua Service Centre immediately, as the air bags may not operate properly in a collision. (Page 64)
