How do I safely release pressure and open the lid after cooking?

Turn the Pressure Release Valve to the RELEASE position by lining up the arrows to release steam before opening the lid. Keep hands and face away from the Pressure Release Valve when releasing pressure or steam. The lid may only be removed once the Floating Valve has dropped and all steam has escaped. (Page 9)
