Why does my washer have excessive vibration or unusual noise?

Make sure the washer is installed on a level, solid floor and that the shipping bolts have been removed. Also ensure the washer is not contacting any other object and that the laundry load is balanced. Metal objects like coins, or clothing with metal decorations, can also cause noise during washing, which is considered normal. (Page 18)
