How does the ice-making cycle work in my Whirlpool refrigerator?
The ice maker fills its mold with water, which then freezes into cubes. Once frozen, a heating element is activated to gently warm the mold and release the ice cubes into the storage bin. The ice maker continues this cycle to provide a steady supply of ice until the automatic shut-off arm is raised by accumulated ice (Page 2).
