Yes, you can add an item anytime before the main wash starts. Lift up the door latch to stop the cycle and wait for spraying to stop. Check if the main wash detergent dispenser is still closed before adding items. Close the door but do not latch it, wait 30 seconds for air to warm up, then close firmly and press START/RESUME.
