For normally soiled dishes with soft to medium water (0–6 grains per U.S. gallon), fill the Main Wash section to the top of the 2nd step, which equals 6 tsp (30 mL). Also fill the Pre-Wash section to the top of the 2nd step with 6 tsp (30 mL). Always use automatic dishwashing detergent only, as other detergents can produce excessive suds. (Page 13)
