How do I clean the strainer on the sand filter?

Switch off the sand filter and set the Control Valve to Closed, then replace the Debris Screens with Stopper Plugs to prevent water from escaping. Unscrew and remove the Strainer Cover, take out the Strainer and remove any debris, then reassemble ensuring the hole in the strainer is aligned and the Seal Ring is in place. The strainer must be emptied and cleaned periodically, as a dirty or blocked strainer will reduce the performance of the sand filter. (Page 9)
