How do I properly disconnect the appliance for an extended period?

Turn off the water supply to the appliance and wait 3 hours to prevent mold forming. Remove groceries, press the main On/Off switch, pull out the mains plug or switch off the fuse, empty the ice cube container, and clean the appliance. Leave the appliance open to allow it to dry properly.
