What should I do if my dishwasher has an odor?

Odors are typically caused by food debris at the bottom of the dishwasher, food particles near the door seal, dishes left too long before running a cycle, residual water, or an obstructed drain hose. Clean the filters and door seal according to the care and maintenance section, and run a Rinse and Hold cycle if you do not intend to immediately wash the dishes. If the odor persists, run the Normal cycle, interrupt it, and place an 8oz cup of distilled white vinegar on the top rack, then finish the cycle. (Page 17)
