What should I do before using my washing machine for the first time?

Before the first wash, remove the transport safety bolts from the rear of the washing machine and run an empty cycle with detergent to remove any test water. Do not load any laundry, add ½ a measuring cup of detergent to compartment II, select a 60°C programme, press Start, and leave the door open to dry after completion. (Page 8)
