On the underside of each burner cap is one locator which must fit into the corresponding notch on the burner base. If the burner cap is not placed correctly, the burner may not light or the flame may not burn completely or correctly. Never use the cooktop without all burner caps and grates properly positioned to prevent flare-ups. (Page 4)
