What should I do if sugar or sweet products spill on the cooktop?

Sugar and products containing sugar may damage the cooktop and require immediate removal. Remove these types of spills while the surface is hot using a razor blade scraper at a 30° angle. After the surface has cooled, remove the residue and apply glass ceramic cooktop cleaner. (Page 20)
