How do I insert the batteries into the RT20 Rf Room Thermostat?

Press the cover-opening button of the thermostat and insert the AAA batteries. The thermostat uses 2 x 1.5V LR03/AAA batteries with an average lifetime of greater than 1 year under normal use.
