How often should I clean the dishwasher filters, and how do I do it?

The filter system should be cleaned 3–6 times per year for light to average use, and 8–12 times per year for heavy use. To clean, unscrew the Large Object Trap and remove the entire filter system, then detach the microfilter from the fine filter and rinse all parts under running water using a soft brush — do not use abrasive brushes or steel wool. Reinstall in reverse order and lock the Large Object Trap by aligning the marking arrows. (Pages 49–50)
