How do I sew a buttonhole on this sewing machine?

Attach the buttonhole foot 'A', set the pattern selection dial to Buttonhole, and lower the buttonhole lever. Add together the diameter and thickness of the button and set the button guide plate to that calculated length, then mark the buttonhole position on the fabric with tailor's chalk. Lower the buttonhole lever and push it back slightly before starting the machine to sew the buttonhole automatically. (Page 2)
