How do I sew a buttonhole on the XH2177-001?

Mark the position and length of the buttonhole on the fabric using tailor's chalk, then attach the buttonhole foot 'A' and set the pattern selection dial to Buttonhole. Add together the diameter and thickness of the button and set the button guide plate to that calculated length, then lower the buttonhole lever and push it back slightly before starting to sew. Set the stitch length dial between 'F' and '1.5' and sew a trial buttonhole on scrap fabric first to check results. (Page 2)
