How does the anti-theft alarm system work and how do I disarm it on the 2012 Cadillac SRX?

The alarm is armed by closing all doors, liftgate, and hood, then locking the vehicle using the transmitter; the LED on the instrument panel will flash slowly after about 30 seconds to indicate the alarm is active. If a door, hood, or liftgate is opened without first unlocking with the transmitter, the turn signals will flash and the horn will sound for about 30 seconds. To disarm the system, unlock the doors using the transmitter or start the vehicle with a recognized transmitter in the vehicle. (Page 50)
