You must install the software before connecting the scanner to the computer. The Setup Disc includes CaptureOnTouch (the dedicated scanning utility) and the Scanner Driver required for using the scanner. Third-party software such as OmniPage SE 4, PaperPort, and eCopy PDF Pro Office (Windows only) are also available on the disc. (Page 5-7)
