What safety precautions should be followed when handling toner?
Toner is described as a nontoxic matter composed of plastic, iron, and a trace of pigments, but it should never be thrown into flames to avoid explosion. If toner adheres to skin or clothes, wipe it off with dry tissue paper and wash with water — never use warm water, as it can cause toner particles to gel and permanently soak into fibers. Toner particles are also reactive with vinyl polymers, so contact with those materials should be avoided. (Page 11)
