How do I check the engine oil level?

Remove the oil filler cap/dipstick and wipe it clean. Insert the cap/dipstick into the oil filler neck but do NOT screw it in. Remove it and check if the level is between the high (H) and low (L) marks. Add oil slowly if the level is low, then replace and tighten the cap/dipstick firmly before starting the engine.
