What should I do if the auger fails to stop when the control is released?

Immediately return to the operator's position and shut OFF the engine. Wait for ALL moving parts to stop before adjusting the auger control. Then loosen the upper hex bolt on the auger cable bracket and position it upward to provide more slack or downward to increase cable tension, then retighten the bolt.
