How do I start the engine when my battery is dead?

Use jumper cables to connect the batteries of both vehicles. Make sure each end of the red cable clips onto each vehicle's positive terminal and one end of the black cable connects to a good ground away from fuel tank or battery on the functioning car, then to a good chassis ground on your tractor.
