How do I safely empty and clean the dirty water tank?

Always unplug the cleaner before servicing to reduce the risk of injury from moving parts. Grasp the sides of the tank, push the latch to release it, and rock the tank forward out of its base. Unscrew the drain cap and empty the dirty water into a sink or other suitable container. (Page 2)
