How do I maintain and clean the air gap on my GSD570?

Check the air gap at least once a month by turning off the dishwasher, lifting off the chrome cover, unscrewing the plastic cap, and checking for any buildup of grit — a toothpick makes cleaning easy. Also check the air gap any time your dishwasher isn't draining well. Note that the air gap is not part of the dishwasher and is not covered under the warranty.
