How do I install batteries in my GE Universal Remote?

Pull down on the textured surface on the back of the remote and slide the battery cover downward to remove it. Insert two AAA alkaline batteries, matching the (+) and (-) marks on the batteries to the marks inside the battery compartment. Position the battery cover slightly below the opening and push upward to lock it into place.
