How do I lock the vehicle seat belt for proper installation?
The method to lock your vehicle seat belt depends on your retractor type. For Switchable or ALR retractors, slowly pull the shoulder belt all the way out and then let it go back in—you will hear a clicking sound. For ELR retractors with a sliding latch plate, you will need to use a locking clip to secure the belt. For locking latch plates, pull upwards on the shoulder belt so that the lap belt gets tight around the base. Always consult your vehicle owner's manual for specific information about your vehicle's seat belt system. (Pages 62-67)
