What gauge cable should I use for my landscape lighting installation?

Cable gauge depends on both the total fixture wattage and cable length. For example, on the 12V tap with 0–60 watts and up to 100 feet, 16 AWG cable is sufficient, but for 121–180 watts up to 50 feet, 14 AWG is required. You must use CSA or UL approved low-voltage cable with a minimum of 16 gauge. (Page 10)
