To replace a hard drive, first back up your data and prepare the computer for disassembly. Remove the access panel, disconnect power and data cables, pull the release lever at the rear of the drive, and slide it out. Transfer mounting screws to the new hard drive if needed, align the screws with the slots on the chassis cage, press down into the bay, then slide forward until locked in place. Connect the data cable to SATA0 on the system board for the primary drive or a light blue connector for secondary drives. Replace computer access panel and power on the machine.
