How do I install the printer software via USB on Windows?

Close all open programs on the computer, then install the software from the CD and follow the on-screen instructions. When prompted, select the option to connect directly to this computer using a USB cable, then click Next. Connect the USB cable to the printer and computer only when the software prompts you to do so — do not connect it before being prompted.
