What does error code E3 mean on the HP Smart Tank 580?
Error code E3 indicates either a print carriage jam or that the printhead cover is not properly closed. Check that the printhead cover is fully closed and that nothing is obstructing the print carriage. The manual notes you should not open the printhead cover unless specifically instructed to do so.
