How do I fill the salt container correctly?

Use only rough salt designed for dishwashers — fine salt increases the risk of corrosion. For the first fill, put 1 litre of water into the salt container, then add 1 kg of salt and turn the cap clockwise to close it. After filling, immediately start a programme to prevent corrosion, as water and salt may overflow during filling. (Page 14)
